If you've ever read my blog, you'd know that Notion is my holy grail. You can do countless things with it, and for school, it's perfect for notes, schedules, plans and more.I started using Notion during the era of online learning and since then, I’ve figured out my preferred way to revise for exams. Hopefully, this works out for you too!
In this guide, I've included steps to make your own Notion revision template. You can get the template for free here. 1. Revise
Add each topic you need to study to a database. Tick them off with a checkbox property as you revise them or add a Status property to track your understanding.
2. Study plan
After you’ve revised your notes and feel prepared to do practice questions, make a database with all your practice papers like the one below.
I deleted the Tags property and added a Checkbox, Number and Date property, sorted the database by Date ascending, and added a Calendar view. Add the date you plan to complete each practice paper, as well as the date of the real exam. You can add a reminder so you get a notification on the day. 3. Practice
Create a list of toggles like this.
As you correct practice papers, add the information you got wrong as a bullet point under the relevant topic. You can also add diagrams and tables.
This way, you make notes only based on things you don’t know, and you can read through this to consolidate the correct answers. If one topic has a lot of dot points, you should revise it.
Using these notes, you can make flashcards or use a website like gizmo.ai. Gizmo is an AI-powered site and app where you copy and paste sentences from your notes and it creates flashcards for you, and you practice them with spaced repetition. It’s super easy to use and fast, as you don’t need to write questions and answers.
