Selling templates isn't the only way to make money from Notion. Here are six products or ways you can sell online. 1. Notion affiliatesRefer Notion to your friends and followers, and earn 50% of all referred payments, with no limit to how much you can earn. 2. Gumroad/etsy affiliatesGet a commission of someone’s notion template that they have shared on Gumroad. For some, you will have to apply to be an affiliate, but the products on Gumroad Discover (The search on Gumroad) don't require you to apply. Etsy also has an affiliate program and a large notion community. 3. WebsiteYou can make a website or blog where you share affiliate links to notion templates, like nicklafferty.com and gridfiti.com. Curate templates into lists like ‘best notion financial organisers,’ describe each template and add the link. Share the post on social media and build an audience 4. NewsletterSimilar to a website, start a newsletter where you share notion resources and templates, like a blog.notionery.com, which is a Substack newsletter with over 5,000 subscribers. Building an engaged audience takes time, though, and you should share free resources and/or tips in addition to premium content. 5. Covers, icons and dividersMake and sell a pack of notion covers, page icons, stickers or dividers with a common theme or aesthetic. They're pretty easy to make, and you can even make them with Canva. 6. WidgetsMake a widget and sell it, like remir.co. Ideally, you could code one with HTML, but if you can’t, generate the code with ChatGPT and convert it to a link that you can embed into Notion. Feel free to comment any other ideas! Hope this post was helpful.

When I first started sharing Notion templates back in early 2021, I never thought that it would become a way to make money online. At the end of last year, I finally started selling them. Here are my tips on how to go from $0 to $100 by selling Notion templates.
1. Why Gumroad?
Gumroad is probably the most popular place to sell Notion templates, but it also has very high fees. While I’ve found the process of using Gumroad to be very simple, be sure to research other platforms such as Lemon Squeezy to ensure Gumroad is right for you.
2. Share free templates, and make good templates
Long before I put my templates on Gumroad, I shared them for free on my blog. This helped me figure out what templates are in demand, and what people want to see. For my audience, aesthetics are as important as functionality, so I mostly stayed away from making minimalistic templates that are very popular with large creators. Sharing free templates on Gumroad can also help you build an audience - if people like your templates, they’ll subscribe, and you can promote your paid templates to them via email later. When making a paid template, think about if you would buy the template if you didn’t know how to make it or wanted to save time. Your template should provide value, so a basic school or planner template is unlikely to sell if it doesn’t offer any think that the many free templates do. There’s no quick trick to selling templates - it’s often time-consuming and you need to have spent a significant amount of time learning to use Notion to its full potential.
3. Allow customers to pay what they want
This means that customers can tip you above the price you have set for the product. Surprisingly, a lot of my earnings came from tips rather than monetised templates.
4. Promote your templates
Compared to Twitter and Instagram, I got most of my traffic to my Gumroad page through Pinterest. You can use pre-made Canva templates to promote your templates. Some of my most popular Pins are very simple, like this one. At this point, you might want to establish a personal brand identity; that is, a colour scheme, fonts and profile picture that is consistent throughout your content, so you can be recognisable to potential customers. For example, my one is pretty simple: the colours teal and white, and the font family Garet. The best way to increase your monthly views on Pinterest is simply by being consistent and creatingidea pins. You can create pins in bulk and then schedule them to post at a later date to save you time. For me, getting engagement on Instagram was, and still is difficult. This makes sense because the content I posted before promoting my Notion templates was completely different to the content I post now. That isn’t to say promoting on Instagram isn’t worth it; just be sure to engage with other creators within your niche, create reels and post consistently. I think it’s safe to assume that most of the people consuming Notion-related on Instagram are creators themselves, so it might be worth appealing to them. For someone who finds it difficult to have a distinct and consistent personal voice in my content, I find it kind of tiring, though I do post occasionally. I also shared some of my templates on Reddit, which brings in a notable amount of traffic to my Gumroad page. Most subreddits don’t allow users to self-promote while others do, so make sure you read the rules of the community before posting. I shared my templates with subreddits that were relevant to the specific template to ensure that the audience actually finds value in the post, rather than seeing it as an advertisement. You can also reply to comments that request something that your template offers. Another workaround self-promotion is to share the template as a ‘showcase,’ and then DM the people who ask for the template, though this is a bit time-consuming.
5. Gumroad Discover & affiliates After you publish a product on Gumroad, you can enable Gumroad Discover, which “recommends your products to prospective customers, helping you grow beyond your existing following and find even more people who care about your work.” This also allows you to add other people as affiliates for your products (see the next point). Additionally, you can boost your product's visibility in Gumroad recommendations giving Gumroad a higher cut of earnings for that product. The higher the percentage fee the better the boost.
6. Reach out to other creators
There are heaps of Notion blogs and newsletters out there that will help you promote your templates. Shoot them an email showing the templates you make and why they are valuable, and you could be featured on someone’s blog or newsletter. They may ask you to add them as a Gumroad affiliate, which means they get a cut of your earnings. Given the presumably large audience they have, this is usually worth it in the long run.
7. Share on multiple platforms
I collected a whole bunch of Notion Template marketplaces where you can share your Gumroad templates from a wider reach. Here, you can list your free and paid Notion templates, usually with an affiliate fee by linked to your Gumroad product page.
8. Commissions
You can make custom Notion templates for people based on their requests. I used Buy Me A Coffee to accept commissions. Again, be sure to research platforms before you set them up to ensure that it is right for you. Ko-Fi is also an option for commissions. Specify the types of templates that you make to make sure that the requests are within the scope of your ability.
That brings me to the end of this post. Let me know if you found this post useful or if you have any other tips to share!

Twitter | Instagram | Pinterest | Buy me a coffee I created this free Notion template to help you organise and plan any event from start to finish. Here's how you can use it! 1. Date & Venue On the first page, you decide your event's time, date and venue. You can use a timeline database to visualise how far away the event is and plan the dates you need to order and book the things you need for the event. Embed a countdown widget from Indify to count down the days till your event. Embed the Google Maps location of your event, and put any information about the venue on this page. 2. Theme Depending on the scale of your event, you may want to plan out the theme of the decorations of your event and the dress code. You can embed Pinterest pins and insert images for inspiration. 3. Invitation Don't forget to make a nice invitation for your event (which is shaping up to be pretty good thanks to this template). You can use a template from Canva to whip up a nice design quickly. Incorporate your event theme into the flyer. You can embed your Canva design into Notion. I embed Indify counters into the template so you can add the numbers of people that have RSVP'd. 4. Food If you're doing a potluck, you can use a table database to assign dishes to different people and add the prices. 5. Games This section really depends on the nature of the event. You can list game ideas and figure out if you need to buy anything to play them. 6. Decoration Use a table database to list the décor items you need to buy, list the prices to ensure within budget and tick off the stuff after you buy it. You can bookmark links to the sites you need to order them from and add contacts with phone numbers and links in another table. 7. Playlist Embed a Spotify or YouTube playlist into Notion. That brings me to the end of this post! Hope you found it useful and let me know if you have suggestions for more Notion templates.
