What is a team? A team is when 2 or more people in a group play, compete against another team playing a quiz, match or game, or just a group of people doing something together. What is teamwork? Teamwork is when a team work together and cooperate with each other to achieve a goal. They work very hard as a team. There is a saying: 'united we stand, separated we fall'. This means when we stand together as a team, we are a strong and happy community, united together, but when we are separated are not together as a team, we fall! Have you ever read a book called Tom Gates by Liz Pichen? It's a tremendously funny series! The main character, as you might have guessed, is Tom Gates. Let me tell his strengths and weaknesses: Strengths: * Annoying his sister, Delia *DOODLING! *Eating caramel wafers. *Getting away with excellent excuses. *DUDE 3 rock star poses. Weaknesses: *Focusing on home\school work. *Looking at Mrs Worthington's moustache without staring. *Dolling at the back of his book or reading comics in work time with out being caught by Mr Fullerman's beady eyes in the front row. *Ignoring Marcas. *Avoiding getting punished. * Being on time at school. From curries and sweets to rope and roof tiles, the nuts, leaves and wood of the Sri Lankan coconut palm are used for just about everything. It is also used for making colander coconut shell spoons. Here's how:
First, the nuts are plucked from the treetops by highly skilled coconut pickers. Then the empty shells are shaped and polished to make the spoons in this shape, while the palm’s trunk lends its hard, durable wood for the handles. Carved by hand, each spoon has its own unique shape and size, and over time they will pick up lovely signs of use. The colander spoon is used for lifting dumplings or vegetables from a boiling pot, the large and small ladles for curries and stews, and serve food such as rice. |
